The Department of Women's Oncological Diseases became the first among Polish hospitals, which was accredited by the European Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ESGO) and was recognized by the European Gynecologic Oncology Center.

TREATMENT OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES IN THE UNIVERSITY CLINIC OF KRAKOW

An electrophysiology laboratory with an advanced specialized cardiological system is functioning here that allows doctors of Krakow to conduct the most accurate examinations of the heart.

The laboratory of the clinic, scheduled examinations of patients with an established pacemaker and procedures for radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFA) are carried out. These procedures are aimed at eliminating arrhythmia by introducing a thin flexible catheter through a blood vessel to the site of cardiac arrhythmia. A radio-frequency pulse is triggered on the catheter, and it destroys the pathological rhythm.

Annually in the department of cardiovascular diseases of the clinic of Krakow, doctors conduct about 200 procedures of radiofrequency ablation, installation of 250 pacemakers and receive more than 3000 outpatients.

TREATMENT OF BLOOD DISEASES IN UNIVERSITY CLINIC KRAKOW

The Center of Hematology became the first medical center in Poland specializing in the treatment of malignant and benign blood diseases. The department was opened in 1950, headed by Associate Professor Julian Alexandrovich.

In 1958, doctors for the first time in Poland carried out a successful bone marrow transplantation between twin sisters in the Hematology Center of the Krakow Clinic,.
