For several years he served as director of the Center for Nephrology, Dialysis, Transplantation and Urology at the Vilnius University Hospital Santariski Klipikos. Since 2010 he works as a urologist in a private hospital in Kardiolita. In 1970, with a team of surgeons, he performed kidney transplantation for the first time in Lithuania, and in 1983 he discovered a unique method of preparing for a kidney transplant. In 2000, for the first time in Lithuania, he performed liver transplantation.
