• 2016: the conclusion of the agreement on the purchase of the Spanish hospital group Quironsalud (43 hospitals with a turnover of about 2.5 billion) enabled the network of Helios hospitals to become the largest hospital operator in Germany; Helios initiated a program for the correct treatment of antibiotics.
• 2015: three HELIOS modeling centers have been established to implement high standards of staff training; In Leipzig, a new cooperation agreement has been signed between the university, the university hospital and the heart center for the sustainable development of cardiology.
• 2015: the new Helios hub platform is launched - the first in Germany database for developing digital solutions and integrating them into the life of hospital networks.
• 2013: in the clinics of the network, the number of cases of infection with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, per 1000 patients, was reduced by 33% compared to 2009.
• 2012: Helios Hospital Group has achieved more than 90% of its targets.

HELIOS HOSPITAL IN BERLIN-BUCH

Clinic Helios Berlin-Buch is considered one of the most modern clinics in Europe. In the construction of this medical institution the Helios group invested more than 200 million euros.

In Berlin-Buch there are 1 000 beds available. About 52,000 inpatients and 113,000 outpatients visits annually.

Clinic uses a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment, in which doctors communicate with this medical institution, as well as all the experts that are available in other partner clinics of this network and partner academic institutions. • Mortality in rectal colon cancer surgery - 2.3 in Helios with an average of 4.3 in Germany;
• Mortality in the case of intestinal obstruction without an abscess - 0 in Helios with an average of 1.1;
• Mortality in cases of uninterrupted aneurysm of the abdominal aorta (open surgery) - 0 in Helios, with an average of 6.8 in Germany;
• Mortality in the initial diagnosis of hip fracture - 2.8 in Helios with an average of 5.1 in Germany;
• Mortality in the removal of the bladder (G-IIC 50.31 and 50.32) - 0 in Helios, with an average rate in Germany of 5.2.

Also it is important to note that the clinic prefers minimally invasive operations. Thus, the proportion of the use of laparoscopic surgery to remove the gallbladder due to stones was 98 cases, with an average of 90 cases by Germany. And the share of laparoscopic surgery in hysterectomy is 91 cases with an average score in the country less than 83.

 

ENDOCLINIC HELIOS IN HAMBURG

HELIOS ENDO-Klinik Hamburg is the largest in specialized orthopedics clinic in Europe. The best specialists in diseases of bones, joints and spine surgery work here. Endoclinic Helios annually carries out more than 80 000 procedures of endoprosthetics. Here, the hip joint replacement, knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow joints are replaced.
