HORIZON CANCER CENTER IN THE BUMRUNGRAD INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL THAILAND

In the oncology unit of Bumrungrad diagnoses and treatment of all types of cancers from stage 1-4 is dealt using advanced methods and innovative technologies. For treatment of malignant lesions specialists of the Horizon Center conduct:

• radiotherapy using VMAT;
• oral, intravenous and intramuscular chemotherapy;
• stem cell transplantation;
• brachytherapy.

Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) is a method of intensive modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), in which the patient's irradiation source rotates around him in 360 degrees. It allows to minimize the effect on healthy tissues and organs, as it accurately calculates the dose and the place of irradiation. This procedure also reduces the duration of irradiation, but at the same time is highly effective.

During the chemotherapy special anticancer drugs are introduced in the patient’s body that destroy cancer cells and stop their development.

For the treatment of most types of cancer, mono-chemotherapy (prescribes treatment with a single drug) and polychemotherapy (complex treatment with several drugs simultaneously or sequentially) is used here.

When chemotherapy is performed as an additional treatment for cancer (in combination with surgery or radiotherapy), it is prescribed either after surgery or radiation therapy, or - before.

Brachytherapy in the international hospital Bumrungrad is carried out for the treatment of prostate cancer. The procedure involves the introduction of radioactive material inside the malignant formation or next to it in order to reduce the effect of irradiation on healthy organs. For treatment of a prostate tumor, irradiation should be 2 times greater than that provided by classical radiation therapy.

Temporal brachytherapy allows you to deliver large doses of radiation directly to the tumor site and bypass healthy tissues. Permanent - involves placing inside the tumor or next to her radioactive microcapsules the size of a rice seed that remain in the tumor and irradiate it continuously for a certain time.

HEART CENTER IN THE BUMRUNGRAD HOSPITAL THAILAND

The cardiological center of the hospital was founded in 1997. Annually, more than 40,000 patients with cardiovascular diseases from all over the world come here.

One of the methods of accurate diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases in the hospital is monitoring Holter. This modern method allows to monitor the work of the heart during the day (at rest, during stress and relaxation). The special apparatus fixes and analyzes about 100 thousand cardiac cycles in the rhythm of life habitual for the patient. Monitoring allows detecting a violation of the heart rhythm, ischemic myocardial disease.

To prevent a stroke, Bumrungrad hospital practice the closing of the left atrial appendage with Watchman technology.

The Watchman device is implanted through the skin with a catheter. The device is placed in the aperture of the left atrial appendage. It does not allow blood to be collected there and form clots, since the latter provoke a stroke.
 

TREATMENT OF KIDNEY DISEASES IN THE CLINIC BUMRUNGRAD

The Nephrology Center at Bumrungrad Hospital provides accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of short-term and long-term kidney diseases. Here they treat:
