TRANSPLANTATION OF ORGANS IN INDIAN CLINIC ARTEMIS

Specialists of Artemis Health Institute are engaged in bone marrow, liver, kidney and cornea transplant.

Bone marrow transplantation is carried out for the treatment of thalassemia, aplastic anemia, leukemia, lymphoma and immunodeficiency.

In the hospital, autologous stem cell transplantation (for which the patient's own cells are used) and allogeneic (for which cells of one of the family members, an unrelated donor or a cord blood unit are used).

Transplantation of the cornea in Artemis Hospital is carried out using the advanced method - deep layered endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK).

This modern method of corneal transplantation is considered safer and less traumatic.

After it, vision is restored more quickly, wounds heal better, the probability of postoperative complications and the introduction of infections is minimized. Unlike the traditional procedure, DSAEK involves transplanting only a thin back layer of the cornea.

The operation is performed with a minimum number of incisions (1-2 seams compared to 16-24 during classical keratoplasty). Donor tissue is carefully checked before transplantation for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis to protect the patient's health and make transplantation as safe as possible.

Artemis clinic performs orthotopic liver transplant (transplantation of the whole donor organ or its part to the site of the remote diseased liver together with the site of the inferior vena cava). Transplantation of a part of the liver is as successful as transplantation of the whole organ. The liver is able to regenerate by 85%, so the patient's part of the liver "grows", and the same happens with donor.
